Our family had the incredible opportunity to appear on WJZ Baltimore’s morning show to talk about our children’s book, What Makes Me Awesome: An Autism Acceptance Story, and our mission behind The Ausome Village.
This was a huge moment for us. As parents raising a child with Level 3 autism, we are committed to increasing awareness, representation, and resources for families like ours. Sitting on that couch, sharing our story, and seeing our son flipping through his AAC device on live television, was emotional and powerful.
We spoke about:
- Why we wrote the book
- The impact autism acceptance has on children and families
- How representation changes lives
- Our growing mission through The Ausome Village
We are grateful for everyone who tuned in, shared the segment, ordered the book, and sent us messages of encouragement. This is only the beginning. We are excited for what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to continue spreading autism acceptance through storytelling and representation.
